Valentine's Day 2012

 I may have mentioned this before, but Nate and I decided a couple of years ago that we hate Valentine's day. Another day of commercialism, expectations and obligations. We decided single, dating people maybe need Valentines day because they don't have an anniversary. Since we have an anniversary,  we decided from then on to make our anniversary a big celebration, and do random kind gestures throughout the year instead of having so much pressure to do something extraordinary on V-Day. So the fact that he left town today is sad, but not in a 'you left me on Valentine's Day, jerk!' kind of way.

Kaylee, however was SO excited for Valentines Day. All the kids were. Cindy, Mark, Cami, aunt Meri, Grandma Mecham, and my mom all sent packages for us and the kids full of candy. The week before, we'd put something from each one in their mailboxes {that they made} every day. They would come home from school and we'd have 'MAIL TIME!!!' They would open their Valentine and eat a little treat. So fun. Last night, Kaylee wrote each of her classmates' names on the fruit snacks I bought for her class.

I went to work early so I could watch the spinal cord stimulator. It is a very complicated procedure that alleviates pain in some patients. I was there at 7:30 AM. I took off before the afternoon clinic. When I got home, there was a box that had arrived in the mail for me! There was no note card or anything. I opened it and it was a big bouquet of beautiful flowers and roses! It came with a glass vase and everything!

I knew it was from Dad. I felt so loved. I just started crying! It meant so much to me!
Shortly after lunch, we picked up Kaylee and headed off to the airport to drop off Nate and pick up Cindy. We waited in the airport for about an hour, which was about all the kids could handle. We hung out in some chairs under the stairs. The kids ran around and Kaylee played with the candy she got from her Valentine’s day party.

Waiting at the airport. Ammon is SO done. They kept checking out the window to see if Grandma's plane had landed yet. {Don't mind my really annoying baby-talk voice--haha}
They took off running when they saw their Grandma!
I was pretty beat by the time we got back. I had thrown a chicken in the crock pot. It was so nice to come home to a warm meal and then crash!
