Christmas advent...the magical countdown!

In November, we had a Relief Society activity that was dedicated to crafts. "Souper Saturday!" Eat soup, make stuff.

One thing I made was this felt Christmas tree. I was hoping it would keep Ammon from 're-decorating' MY tree. I was wrong!

Another thing I made was a Christmas Advent Calendar with little socks! I stuffed them with treats and an activity to do every day leading up to Christmas. Here it is:

Here are the things we did! Sorry, not all have coordinating pictures.
(Not in order of actual occurrence)

Decorate the Christmas tree

Write a letter to Santa

Visit a Nursing home
{We actually did this on Christmas Eve}

Eat a holiday treat

Read a Christmas Story

Make a gingerbread house
{We skipped this since we did it with the Lopez family...see this post}

Wrap presents

Act out the Nativity
{Did this two days before Christmas, see this post}

Take a bubble bath

Bake Christmas treats

Make paper snowflakes

Make hot chocolate with marshmallows

Watch a Christmas movie
 {Managed to do this before our TV broke}

Go to ward Christmas party

Write a birthday card to Jesus

Write Christmas letters to families
{In addition to writing letters, I drew this picture of my Dad as a gift.}

Crafts

Make teachers gifts

Sing your favorite Christmas songs

Build a fort with blankets and read Christmas stories inside!

Visit Santa at the (Monroeville) mall

Read story of Nativity

Build a snowman
{The snow wouldn't pack, but we still played in it.}

Special Christmas Dinner
{Christmas Eve, of course. We were waiting for Grandpa David to arrive from the airport!}

Open presents!
{Including pre-Christmas Packages from Grandparents/Aunts...thank you everyone!!!}
 Among the many gifts, the kids got these cute hats! See this post for our when we dressed up as elves for a breakfast with Mrs. Claus!

One thing that was NOT on the list...car problems.

Sarah, you are such a fun Mom. I didn't know you could draw like that picture of your Dad. That is amazing. Multi, multi talented...
